Specializing in the construction of large cruise ships and naval vessels, it operates at the intersection of advanced engineering, industrial logistics, and large-scale project management. The shipyard employs thousands of workers across highly specialized trades and manages complex production systems that span multiple years per vessel.

Role Overview

As a Production Operator Intern within outfitting operations, I will be embedded directly on the shop floor, participating in the day-to-day execution of production tasks. This role provides direct exposure to the operational realities of large-scale industrial manufacturing in a high-stakes environment.

  • Participate in outfitting operations, contributing to the installation and assembly of ship interior systems and components.
  • Observe and analyze how resources, labor, and information flows are coordinated across production units under real-world constraints.
  • Develop a grounded understanding of production systems, workflow organization, and operational decision-making under time pressure, safety requirements, and variability.
